Drop Zone Tahiti Premiere 
The greatest surfing and diving movie ever made its debut last week at the DEMA Show in Las Vegas. Body Glove athletes Alex Gray, Holly Beck and Cheyne Magnusson along with filmmaker Greg Browning were on hand to showcase the newest film. The dive crew were pumped on the great surf and some of the most amazing diving in Tahiti. This surfing and diving film is the first of its kind and is a partnership between Body Glove, Sport Dive Magazine, Transworld Surf and PADI and the goal is to showcase the youth side of diving while showing these great athletes and personalities surfing and diving on the beautiful reefs of Tahiti. Body Glove Wake Team News
Our main man Rusty Malinoski has had a busy end of the year. He won the 2008 Rockstar Energy Drink WWA Wakeboard World Championships presented by Supra held in Oklahoma City, was name Wakeboarder of the Year by the readers of Wakeboarder Magazine and just got married (sorry single girls). Our ripping lady, Shelby Kantar jetted from the demo at the Lobserfest to Singapore where she landed in 1st place in the 2008 Wakeboarding World Cup Wakeboarding Rail Jam and 2nd in the Wakeboarding Finals. Our team is looking solid for another great 2008.
Dusty Payne Signs and Wins
Body Glove is stoked to announce that Dusty Payne has extended his contract with us until 2010. Dusty has been a part of the Body Glove wetsuit team for the last three years.
Greg Browning of Body Glove, said, “Dusty is a great surfer with an incredible career ahead of him and we’re really excited to be a part of that.”
The Hawaiian phenom is one of the best free surfers on the planet, travels the globe on photo shoots, and is a constant presence on Surfing Magazine’s Hot 100. Dusty celebrated the signing by winning his first big pro contest and earning the biggest prize amount ever for a Junior's event at the Oakley Pro Junior Championship in Bali. Dusty was the stand out surfer in the crowded and talented field and walked away with the title and $20,000.
Body Glove Supports Reef Check
Body Glove has taken our support for Reef Check and stepped it up a level. We now are sponsoring two great contests in conjunction with the International Year of the Reef. We are helping Reef Check sponsor a contest around the world where kids learn the “Year of the Reef” song that Body Glove president, Russ Lesser wrote the lyrics for and his band Thin Ice recorded. Check out this video of a group of kids ages 10-12 from Taiwan. We are also working with Surfline to promote the year of the reef by offering an Eco Prize package for people who sign the Declaration of Reef Rights. Body Glove Launches New Mobile Marketing
Body Glove is testing a new mobile marketing platform by Uronimo Our first test is happening in conjunction with DEMA and the premiere of The Drop Zone Tahiti. Dive N Surf Lobsterfest a Huge Success
Dive N Surf stepped up to the plate this year and hit one out of the park at the Lobster Festival in Redondo Beach. The official launch of the lobster season in Southern California got off to bang with Body Glove wakeboarders going huge on the rail at the Seaside Lagoon and the Dive N Surf Models keeping the crowd entertained. Mark your calendar for next year.
Body Glove Website Updates
We are always trying to improve the website. The latest additions are a new Entertainment section which includes a new video player and music section. The new video player from Mobile Rider allows users to download videos to their desktops, mobile phone and ipods. It also allows users to embed the player or a video into their Myspace of Facebook pages and gives us a way to show longer format and higher resolution movies. The new music section has a cool music player from True Anthem and will be added to with more Body Glove bands in the future. We have also added sections for The Drop Zone. There are also some great new wetsuits for winter and swimwear for your winter vacation in the Girl Section of the website and within the Online Store.
